i'm back! wooo!!! sorry for the inactivity lately...
anyway! new bayside! the new release the devils includes the singles "the devils" and "castaway," which will appear on the upcoming album, there are worse things than being alive, which is to be released april 5th, 2024. i can't say that i'm particularly familiar with recent bayside releases, but i was pleasantly surprised by these songs. they're produced to sound bigger and more "professional" than early bayside, but production aside i wouldn't be surprised if you told me they wrote these songs in the late 2000s. the lyrics have always been a big selling point for the band (imo), and i'm happy to hear that they're just as dramatic and poetic while being more introspective and maybe a little less about killing your ex-girlfriend. i'm excited to hear the rest of the album, i only hope that the singles won't outweigh the rest of the album!
